Spendee is the budget and expense tracker and planner app making headlines. This is my Spendee review for 2024.
I do love a budget app, Well actually any kind of budget. The Spendee app has now been around for a few years so It’s time to delve in and see how it is performing and if it is right for you in 2024.
I have had a bit of a play and in my Spendee review 2024, I am going to let you know how this wonderful little budget planner app can transform the way you view your finances.
I’m what you would call an uber-cautious person. I am extremely careful when it comes to giving out personal information. I am also wary of any kind of mobile app that needs any of my personal details.
This counts for double when it is a financial app that needs my details. On the flip side, I love saving and making money so I tend to do a lot of research before getting involved in a new app.

Spendee Review/Saving Money:
When it comes to saving money any app that is going to help me do that I need to investigate and that is exactly why I decided to write this Spendee app review.
I am not the type of person to go spending as soon as my wages drop into my bank account.
Like many of you reading this, I’m sure there has been a time when you have checked your account and wondered why there is a payment to some random company for £20.
This happens to me all the time and it usually only takes 15 minutes of detective work before realizing it was me making a super impulsive purchase of men’s moisturizer (That’s our little secret).
Spendee allows you to track your finances much more closely from the convenience of your mobile phone.
As we are all super busy these days having an app like Spendee on your phone means less time wasted.
This just makes it much easier to keep track of all the little contactless payments you make throughout the week. Those always creep up on me.
The loaf of bread from the corner shop or the little Amazon purchase you had forgotten all about.
There are now a lot more apps that track expenses but the fact that the Spendee app is still going strong means it must be doing something right.
What Is Spendee?
Spendee is a Personal finance app that allows you to track your finances on the go. With Spendee you can track both your income and your expenses at the touch of a button. This makes it much easier to control your spending (Should that be what you want to do).
It is available to download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. This means it is available for most phones.
The great thing about the Spendee app is you can connect your bank account via syncing.
Once this is done you can closely analyze your finances and then from there you can set up budgets and savings all from your phone and set limits and goals as you see fit.
Having all your money in one place makes it super easy to track where your money goes each month.
There is an option also to create shared wallets with members of your family if you are working towards savings or have a tight budget.
That way your wife can track and see if you have spent any of that month’s budget in the pub! (I’m not selling this am I?)
Seriously though I love this option of sharing wallets. If you and your partner are both saving for a house deposit or a holiday then this works well and you can both see how you are doing with your savings at any time or place via the App.
Tools:
You can go into the App and edit all the categories for spending and also set budgets for each individual category. This lets you know when your spending is nearing its limit.
The Spendee app also has a utility bill tracker. This can let you know when the utility bills are due and therefore never forget to pay them.
With such a wide range of tools in one handy app, you can get a really good grip on your finances and save both time and stress.
The Spendee app also deals with multiple currencies. This is super handy for when you are travelling and saves you from having to use currency converters to see how much you have left in the pot for spending while on holiday.
My problem when abroad on holiday is not even checking exchange rates and just getting my card out and paying. This way I can see instantly what that Burrito just cost.
Should you be up to date on all your digital knowledge there also happens to be an option to connect your Ewallet. Not only that but also your Crypto wallet should you happen to have any Cryptocurrency investments.
With Cryptocurrency investment and purchases on the rise, and with digital currency and products being more mainstream by the day it seems like Spendee has spotted that trend and made it a part of their app. That seems like smart work to me.
How To Sign Up For The Spendee App
First things first you need to download the app from the store. This is as straightforward as downloading any other app. When it is complete you will get the chance to open it and sign up.
The signup process will require you to enter your email address and password as well as some personal information. This is all safe and normal.
There is also the option to sign up via your Google account. Pretty handy if you ask me as this will save you some time entering details.
You may also be lucky enough to have a Spendee promo code which will help you make a saving on their premium service.
When you sign up you will receive a welcome email from Spendee. This will give you some tips and tricks to get started. It will also give you information on how to connect your bank accounts seamlessly.
Once you have connected your bank account you will be able to see past transactions almost immediately which means you can begin using your app to get used to tracking your finances and working out how it all works.

Questions & Answers:
Is Spendee Secure?
Yes, The Spendee app uses bank-level encryption to make sure all your details and financial information are kept secret.
If you trust your bank to keep your details safe then Spendee has the same protection too.
Just think if someone got access to your bank details via the Spendee app. The company as a whole wouldn’t last very long, would it? They need the highest protection and so that is what they have.
If you delete the app, Spendee deletes all of your personal information. This information is never kept or stored once you delete your account.
This level of protection is not only necessary but helps put people’s minds at rest before downloading the app.
Is Spendee Free?
Yes and no. The Spendee app has 3 price points, the first is the free option which is perfectly good and will still help you to track your finances.
The only thing is you are limited to creating only 1 budget and you cannot sync your bank account as well as limit you with regards to shared wallets. It is still a great tool even when free.
The other 2 price points for the Spendee app are Plus which gives you unlimited budgets and wallets as well as shared wallets and Premium which is the same but with bank account sync and automatic categories.
The cheapest way to do those 2 categories is to pay per year and it is $14.99 and $22.99 respectively. If you prefer you can pay monthly and it is $1.99 and $2.99 a month respectively.
When paying this it will charge you in your local currency.
Is Spendee Easy To Use?
The main purpose of my Spendee review is to get to grips with the operating system and see how easy it is to use by everyone.
I have used a few personal finance apps and have found some to be a bit clunky in operation and others with the user interface all over the place making it difficult to use.
Because even with the bigger screens phones are rocking today it is still way smaller than your home computer.
A proper user interface is super important for phone apps. The better and clearer this interface is then the easier it is for the user.
The Spendee app, however, has a great user interface and is very simple to use. Once set up it requires minimal effort from you the user to keep it ticking over.
Is This The Only Personal Finance App?
No there are plenty more Spendee app alternatives around. I haven’t come across many that have the functionality of the Spendee app.
There are so many online banking apps now that have similar features as Spendee, Including Monzo and Plum.
Does The App Have Ads?
Unfortunately yes it does. Most apps these days no matter the target audience have ads and in-app purchases.
Apps, after all, are made by a business of some kind.
There is not a lot you can do about that although the paid versions usually allow you to disable the ads which are an extra incentive for getting those versions.
Summary:
Well, that ends my Spendee review. Sometimes you need to try these things and this is one I would recommend.
Those were just some of the questions I have seen regarding Spendee.
I would highly recommend the Spendee app as I have used it for a few weeks and it is easy to use, fairly intuitive and anything that helps me keep control of my finances is a bonus for me.
I promise you that if you set it up right which doesn’t take long you will see a difference in the way you spend track and control your finances.
Hopefully, after my Spendee review, you will try the Spendee app for yourself.
