Matched Betting Made Simple

This Post is a breakdown of one of the UK’s best side hustles Matched Betting and how to profit from it.

It also goes through my own personal matched betting journey and the money I made and nearly lost from doing it (Don’t let that put you off)

The reason I wrote this post is because information on Matched betting is not always accurate. It is not always easy to find as I found out when I started.

I have some suggestions for you as you go through this post in order for you to make the most out of it.

Firstly take notes, whether that be on a note app on your computer or as I prefer on a pad with a pen.

Why take notes?

Well, I am a huge believer in taking notes while reading blog posts as it is all too easy to get distracted. At least if you have written stuff down then you don’t have to scroll back through the post to find where you were.

Please also remember that this is a guide. I am not the all-seeing oracle when it comes to matched betting but I have learned tips, made mistakes and made over £1000 in one month so I know a fair bit.

Use it as a guide though and try different ways yourself once you have got the hang of things as what worked for me may not work for you.

Matched Betting

Introduction To Matched Betting

What is matched betting? Well In this post, I’m going to explain to you how to make guaranteed money using matched betting.

This is probably the easiest and best side hustle available right now. Currently Matched betting only works well in the UK but can sometimes work in Europe.

Essentially Matched betting is a way of utilising tools to guarantee profit from Bookmaker’s sign-up and reload offers. I’ll explain this further in a bit.

Any links used in this post will only ever be for tools or groups that I have used personally. Many thanks for the continued support.

Let’s get started, shall we?

MY MATCHED BETTING STORY

While doing my usual task of scouting around for new money-making opportunities I came across an article at a great site called Save The Student

It was written by a hard-up student who had tried matched betting. In 6 months he had made enough money to travel to Australia with his friend.

The actual amount was just under £1000. Not too bad I thought. What is matched betting? Maybe this was something I should look further into.

Now even though Save The Student was a reputable site, whenever I’m not entirely sure about a website I tend to navigate my way over to The Money Saving Expert.

The money-saving expert website only deals with legitimate offers, deals and sites.

As soon as I saw it mentioned on this site and in its very popular forums I knew it was legit.

It left me satisfied it wasn’t a scam. All the figures people were saying they had made from it though made me feel like it was still a bit of a scam.

I decided to take the plunge anyway as sometimes in life you just need to take a small risk and I wasn’t going to lose much anyway. I’m so glad I did.

MY RESULTS:

I read some guides online and started out. Within the first 2 hours, I had made a £40 profit. It would have been a little quicker but I was taking my time so as to make no mistakes. The profit took a few days to hit my account but more on that later.

Fast forward a few weeks and I have made over £1000 in just an hour or so every few days. No doubt if I devoted more time to it the figure would have been far higher.

I stupidly ended up spending my profits and had to start again although this time I enlisted some help. More on that later.

WHAT IS MATCHED BETTING?

What is matched betting? That was the question I have been asked by a few friends all eager to learn how I was making big profits in my spare time.

Matched betting in its simplest terms is a way of earning money by taking advantage of Bookmakers sign-ups and free bet offers. It is totally legal and best of all any profit made is tax-free in the UK.

Being able to earn tax-free cash is amazing and this is what makes this side hustle so attractive.

Nearly all bookmakers use great sign-up bonuses to attract new members to join. This is where you take advantage.

So how is this not betting you may ask?

Well with a normal bet, you would perhaps place a bet on a football team to win the game. The only problem with that is that if the team you have picked draws or loses then you lose all of your money.

Matched betting is a little different as not only do you place a bet on the team to win but you also place a bet on a different site for the team not to win. So this means lose or draw. This covers every example of an outcome of a football match

It sounds complicated but once you have done this 2 or 3 times it becomes second nature.

EXAMPLE OF MATCHED BETTING:

So a bookmaker is offering a free bet if you place £10 on a football team to win a game.

With Matched betting, you place a back bet at the bookmaker for your team to win. Then with another type of bookmaker called an exchange, you place a lay bet against your team to win.

This is now covering all the outcomes of that football match. Because of the way it works you will perhaps on a £10 bet lose around 30-40 pence. But this is ok because it has now opened up your free bet.

Once your free bet has been added to your account you now find another match to bet on. This time you are using free bookmaker money.

There are certain calculators available online which will sort out the best matches for you to bet on with your free bet so you gain the most profit from it. (More on the matched betting calculator later).

So you pick another game and place your free bet. Again you place a back bet which is the free one and you place a lay bet.

The good thing is no matter what the result you can’t lose. You dont need to watch the game willing one team on.

Once the bet is complete you will have made anywhere between 60-80% of the free bet as cash. This will be in either your betting account or your exchange account.

I appreciate that just reading about matched betting can seem a little difficult but trust me once you have done a couple of matched bets and been walked through each step it sinks in and you will understand it.

HOW MUCH CAN I MAKE?

Well, it does depend on how much time you put in. If you just do all the bookie sign-up offers and then never place a bet ever again you can earn anywhere between £1000-2000.

This is from just doing as ive described above and will take anywhere between a few weeks to a few months.

If you are happy earning say £1000 in 8 weeks and then leaving it there then that is fine. However, you can earn loads more and make it a monthly income if you choose. All bookmakers do reload bets which are weekly free bets to their loyal customers.

RELOAD BETS:

Reload bets are usually found alongside weekend matches. For example, there may be a big cup match between say, Liverpool and Chelsea. The bookie may do a reload such as bet £20 on Chelsea to win and get a £10 free bet if they lose.

In that case, you would place your back-bet on Chelsea to win and your lay bet against them to win. Either way, you will either win at the bookies or lose and get your free bet.

Reload bets can earn you thousands of pounds per year in extra income if you know where to find them.

SUBSCRIPTION SITES:

The site I use is Outplayed.com. They are a paid site but the monthly fee is worth it due to the amount of help there is for beginners and pros alike.

They also allow you to have a month’s trial for free.

This is an absolute surefire way to make guaranteed money-matched betting. On the site, there is a general guide as to how much you can earn.

15-30mins per day: £500 per month

30mins-1hour per day: £1000 per month

1hour-2hours per day: £2000 per month

The numbers are fairly accurate as I used to put in around 15 minutes per day and earn a few hundred. It is quite hard to reach that top figure now but some dedicated matched bettors are still managing it even today.

So between sign-up offers and reload bets, as well as the odd casino free spin offers it is quite possible to make big money.

The people who dedicate themselves to this and spend a few hours per day scouring offers are making anywhere between £500-1500 a month. Some are making way more but these people are usually full-time matched bettors

You may even be surprised to find that the matched betting world is full of Moms. That’s right some of the people on the forum that I have got advice from are full-time moms.

They do matched bets when the children are at school or napping etc. So no excuses get online and get started for yourself.

HOW MUCH TO GET STARTED?

This is the question most people ask after “How much can I make”. You can start matched betting with around £60-70. However, after the first couple of bets, you are waiting around for a few days waiting for the winnings to be back in your bank.

The more you can put in at the start the quicker the profit arrives. I started with around £200 and had made the same in profit within a week or so. This £200 was earnings that had come from one of my other side hustles.

So the more you can start with the better as you dont need to wait for funds to come from the bookies back to your bank, you can just move on to the next bet.

WHERE TO FIND THE MATCHED BETS?

In my story section above you will see how much money I made. I did this using free-matched betting calculators on the internet and just betting on football and teams that were high profile such as premier league teams.

Once I started looking into it further I found subscription sites that had all the matched betting calculators needed and lists of the best matches to use. Not only this but they also have forums dedicated to helping you make money.

These sites do cost a small amount of money each month but you would make that back in one weekend. The benefits of joining far outweigh the small cost. Most offer a free trial too so you can try out a couple of offers and make some profit before joining.

They also have full guides on every single bookie sign-up and reload so you are spoon-fed through every bet. Great for beginners like I was back when I started.

The forum members helped me out loads. One time I asked for help on the forum and one of the more experienced members asked if they could ring me to help me sort out the mistake I made, they rang and were on the phone guiding me through every step of the way for 20 minutes.

They used a combination of matched betting calculators to help me get out of this tricky situation.

I honestly can’t recommend them highly enough and the small monthly fee to be shown exactly how to make hundreds of pounds extra every month is so worth it.

IS IT FOR ME?

As I mentioned above, the different types of people I speak to on the Profit accumulator forums are amazing. You would think to be involved in the world of betting it would perhaps be male-dominated but it isn’t.

I have seen so many moms and young women on the forums not just asking for help but also helping others.

There are sections where you can add motivational screenshots to help other people get back into the swing of things when they are feeling lazy etc.

I have seen some of the older members and the moms show how much they have earned in a particular month. Also how big their last casino free spin was. Believe me when I say if you think matched betting isn’t for you then you’re wrong.

Making guaranteed money-matched betting is just a click away for anyone over the age of 18. Anyone who has 30 minutes or more spare every day or so. Or anyone who wants to earn extra money each month or a nice lump sum for a few weeks work.

WARNINGS:

I had to add this in here just to make it a fair playing field. There are a few, not warnings but caveats I suppose I should make you aware of.

IS MATCHED BETTING LEGAL?

Yes, It is 100% legal. Not only that but all betting profits are tax-free in the UK. Although matched betting is legal the bookmakers absolutely hate people who do it so as you go through the world of matched betting you will find yourself “Gubbed” banned from many sites. This is ok so long as you withdraw your winnings regularly.

BANKING:

Of course, whether you see this as betting in the traditional sense or not it makes sense to use a separate bank account to your normal day-to-day one.

You certainly dont need your bank manager to see all the bookie deposits and withdrawals. Especially when applying for mortgages or loans etc.

EMAIL:

I would advise you to open a separate email account as well so your regular one doesn’t get clogged up with reload offers. This will make it far easier to see your bets.

SPENDING:

Dont dip into your winnings. This is a big one, Let the profit accumulate. The more of a purse you have to do the offers as they come in the more profit you can make. It might be tempting to dip into that £1500 but please dont until it is at least £3000.

Once you have reached the £2000-3000 mark then maybe pay yourself a wage every month but keep that money in there as a float.

Summary:

If you decide to give Matched Betting a go and have any further questions then feel free to drop a comment and I will get back to you.

Matched betting for me isn’t something that will enable you to leave your 9-5 job but a few extra thousand pounds per year could really help a lot of people out right now.

It is truly one of the better side hustles out there and I suggest you jump into a free trial with one of the matched betting sites to get a taste for it.
